To apply for a rental house at Canal Commons, please come by our office Monday through Thursday between 9am and 5pm or schedule an appointment to complete an application, or download a pdf application here and email a completed version to Housing@RuralAndProud.Org.

The Application Process

Complete Your Application in Person or Online
Visit our office to fill out a print application or download a pdf application and send completed version to Housing@RuralAndProud.Org. We will make accessibility accommodations upon request.

Provide Proof of Income and Complete Screening
Once we review your application for completeness, we’ll request proof of your income, such as pay stubs or bank statements. Once your income is verified and meets our eligibility requirements, you’ll be emailed a link to answer background check/screening questions.

Receive Decision of: Accepted, Waitlisted, or Denied
After reviewing your full application, our current unit availability, and the waitlist, we will let you know whether you are accepted for an open unit, denied (and why), or placed on the waitlist behind other applicants. If added to the waitlist, please let us know when your info changes so that we can update your application.
